We are deep in the trenches of our school year again and among the endless activities, assignments, reading, etc., I attended the Blog Elevated Conference in Galveston, Texas @ Moody Gardens. After the monumental task of arranging pick up/drop offs for the girls’ classes and soccer practice with friends and my hubby, packing clothes, accessories, water bottles, and snacks and THROWING my things together, I was ready but unsure of what to expect.
I have been smack dab in the middle of a mini meltdown regarding my personal endeavors. As you WELL know, we have SO many things on our plates at any one given time and very little room for anything else. Seems never enough time in the day!The details get away from us and pressure mounts. Next thing we know our emails and posts lack and our days turn into nights and we’ve only communicated through solving math problems and taking lunch orders.
It couldn’t have happened at a better time in my life. I arrived ready to throw in my testimonial towel and call it quits but I was received with warm smiles and instant connections. My inhibitions quickly faded and I decided to make the most of my time with these wonderful bloggers. We started the first night with making scrubs hosted by Imperial Sugar. The theme for the weekend was Be you and that’s just what I’m going to do. Just Jess. I’m a wife and homeschool mom doing the best I can with the resources I’m given.
The conference also emphasized the importance of our voice and the impact it has on others. I have a voice. YOU have a voice. Let it be heard. Whether it’s online, on the phone, or face to face. Share you story and testimony. You never know who needs what you have to say.
Despite the trials of it all, I love sharing my life with you and taking you along my journey in the hopes it will help you along yours.
