After seeing this and posting on my FB page, I thought I’d offer a bit of relief that there ARE some options AS OF NOW for non-gmo cereals. Cascadian Farms was a major disappointment to us since we buy 4 different types of their cereal. We do, however, also buy Nature’s Path and really like their coconut chai granola and they also have a pumpkin flax option. It is NON-GMO project verified, which is a plus!
There’s also Ezekiel plain and almond that I personally enjoy to eat. Basically, don’t think you can just read the label and take the marketing words at face value. You HAVE TO do some searching for yourself. The companies are onto the fact that more buyers are becoming concerned about GMO’s and other harmful things in our food and so they’re tweaking packaging and using “buzz words” in hopes this will appease the consumer and they can tap into this niche market as well.
Remember, know the source and what the purpose is behind the marketing and then do a bit of verifying on your own. Won’t be perfect but better than doing nothing.
